The Motorcycle Diaries

storm, stormy, weather, ribut, mendung
* this photo had been taken with NikonD60, i captured this photo on my way home.

Thousands apologies to all loyal readers and visitors, I am totally busy with my workload which I had to give full commitment on my profession but I never give up blogging cause I love to share some point of view with you. I had to cancel my trip to CNX and BKK end of this month since BKK facing major problem. However I shall travel to east coast of Malaysia by motorcycle. This is something new to me, a new experience and new adventure, I do hope I can do it. This would remind me of Che Guevara - The Motorcycle Diaries - The dramatization of a motorcycle road trip Che Guevara went on in his youth. I shall capture pictures and write diaries on this journey.

Anyway I am not travel alone, always remember I am not Che Guera, I do not had his strength but he's inspires me to travel and see the world with Motorcycle, forget about the aircraft, high-speed train or double-deck bus with luxury services. Guess that's all for now... wish you guys all the best and have a nice day. Wish me luck!

Calm Momento

Teluk Senangin, Senangin Bay
(This photo taken with Nokia E5 with no editing)

That day I went to a place to relax my mind; it was a day trip, short and easy. I guess I need little time for my own and get share little secret with God. I always share my stories with God. At least I could express my feeling and the secret will be safe. I note a group of teenagers having so much fun on the beach. I they seem to be very happy and I are happy for them too. I guess I was just like them about 15 years ago, there nothing to worry about. I did not bring my camera but I want to capture this beautiful moment and I like to share with you.

And these photos were taken last Saturday as I on the way to a small town. Lenggong is a town in Perak, Malaysia. It is situated 100 km north of Ipoh. The Lenggong valley in Ulu Perak is one of Peninsular Malaysia's most important areas for archaeology, as excavations have revealed many traces of Malaysia's prehistory. It is the site of the oldest known place of human activity in the Peninsula. Today it is still a rural area, with small kampungs surrounded by green vegetation and limestone hills. Lenggong can be likened to an open-air museum, and is home to legends, skeletons, cave drawings and precious finds such as jewellery, pottery, weapons and stone tools. Many of the caves in the Lenggong area have revealed evidence of ancient humans having lived and hunted in this area.

New bridge, Raja Nazrin Shah bridge passes thru the lake on the way to Hulu Perak. You can take the old road, exit at Sauk or prior to the bridge and follow the old roads to Tasik Raban old rest area. The place is by the lake, has some restaurants open an outdoor center. Tasik Raban is a popular natural lake in Perak consisting several connected water bodies surrounded by pristine greenery. This scenic area is an angler’s paradise and it also supports a small freshwater fish farming industry.

3rd Series Of Malaysian Coins

malaysia, coins, duit syiling
Distinctively Malaysia
The Third Series of Malaysian Coins

The designs of the third series of Malaysian coins draw its inspiration from distinctive elements that define Malaysian culture and heritage. The theme, 'Distinctively Malaysia', features motifs from traditional crafts and our flora and fauna. The coins reflect the diversity and richness of Malaysia's national identity.
Common Features

On the obverse, each denomination features a different motif, 14 dots representing the 13 states and the Federal Territory and (with exception in the case of the 50 sen coin) five horizontal lines representing the five principles of the 'Rukun Negara' (national pillars).

On the reverse, the new series of coins feature the national flower Rosa-sinensis hibiscus (known as the 'Bunga Raya'), numerals indicating the year of minting, the face value of the coin and the words 'BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA'.

Coin Denomination and Design

50 sen - Sulur Kacang
The ‘sulur kacang’ (pea tendrils) motif featured on the new 50 sen coin is popular among traditional woodcarvers and silversmiths.

20 sen - Bunga Melur
The ‘bunga melur’ or jasmine flower is culturally significant among the three major races in Malaysia.

10 sen - Orang Asli Motif
The ‘orang asli’ (aboriginal tribes) of Malaysia are talented in weaving indigenous leaves and plants into decorative items such as headbands, sashes and skirts for traditional rituals and ceremonies.

5 sen - Destar Siga
The ‘destar siga’ cloth is an indigenous form of fabric weaving that originates from the Kadazan Dusun tribe in Sabah.

I have a very small accumulation of coins that I have acquired in my travels. They can be very challenging to identify but the fun is in the trying. They can be very inexpensive or even free.
